Creative Intents :
Lodrasqe is an 3rd year project at ICAN - PARIS, on the theme “Trace”
Our Design Intent was to create a frenetic and impressive FPS experience around a boss battle in arena
Concept :
Lodrasqe is a Hardcore FPS boss Battle game, where the player must use 2 weapons to destroy the hearts of a boss with various forms and phase protected with indestructible Blocks.
Use the MachineShot for damage, and Grenade Launcher to remove the protective Blocks.
The Arena evolves with the Boss, and the player must master the Rocket Jump to move in an infernal environment
Core Mechanics :
Core Toy of Lodrasqe : object named “Blocks” are linked and placed relatively to a “Heart”
The player can shoot Blocks to project and disperse them, but they will come back after some time around the Heart
The player can shoot the Heart to damage it, and destroy it, making Blocks disappear after.
Player Mechanics & controles :
The Player can Jump, move with classic ZQSD/WASD FPS movement, and Swap weapon with Mouse Scrolling Button.
MachineShot : high offense weapon, quickly in automatic mode shooting multiple projectile that can damage Heart. A Mix between a machnine gun and a shotgun
Grenade Launcher : Utility weapon. Shot ammunition affected by gravity, exploding by colliding.
Disperse Blocks, Damage Heart, but can be used near the Avatar to project him at high speed.
This mechanic is called the Rocket Jump and is core to the movement kit of the Player
Win and Defeat condition :
Win condition : destroy the last Heart of the final form of the Lodrasqe
Defeat condition : the Avatar collide with a Heart or fall to far bellow the Arena
The LODRASQE :
The Lodrasqe is a huge creature chasing the player in the arena.
It’s composed of Heart and Blocks.
If a Heart touche the Avatar, the game is over
It behavior changes in function of his form, form that will change each time all of his hearts are destroyed, until a final form
